Issued by the Office for the Deputy Mayor of Public Safety and Justice

On Monday, November 03, 2014 at approximately 10:40 am, arrestee Kenneth Clayton, charged with Simple Assault, Assault on a  Police Officer (Misdemeanor), Threats (Misdemeanor), Possession of Unregistered Ammunition and being a Fugitive from Justice, escaped from the Psychiatric Institute of Washington (PIW) located at 4228 Wisconsin Avenue, N.W. There is an outstanding warrant for his arrest and the Capital Area Regional Task Force, composed of representatives from local and federal law enforcement agencies, are actively engaged in attempting to locate and  apprehend  Mr. Clayton. Representatives from PIW and district agencies are investigating the circumstances surrounding this event.  The arrestee has been described as a Black Male, 6'2", 208 lbs., medium to dark complexion, tattoos on both forearms, bald head, wearing a blue t-shirt, and blue or black pants.
