The D.C. Department of Corrections relies heavily on partnerships with community-based stakeholders and organizations supporting our resident population. Feedback from our partners informs decision making in key operatorial and programmatic areas including our work with the LGBTQ+ population. To support our efforts, DCDOC has established two committees- the Transgender Housing Committee and the Transgender Advisory Committee which provide much need guidance on critical issues including housing, healthcare, reentry, education, religious services and post release supports.
