All legal mail should be sent using the inmate’s name, DCDC Number and the address of the DC Jail. Legal Mail will be opened in the presence of the inmate, only to inspect for contraband. Inmates are also allowed to send legal mail, sealed and addressed to the courts, attorneys and public officials.
